1. Editorial: I'll probably get sacked for this. As Margaret is away on holiday, I've got my hands on the newsletter (At last!)
I need to share something with you quite extraordinary.
I have over the last few years seen a stream of clients enter the offices of Careers International in Knowle, Solihull, West Midlands, UK. Mainly when they arrive, they have been deflated, lacking in confidence, unhappy, unsure, ghost-like and very lost.
Once they have taken a Career Development Programme with Margaret I've watched them over the weeks and months that follow, invariably these people develop an incredible sense of self-worth, purpose and direction.
Clients from all walks of life, get their lives back in focus, find a job or profession that really turns them on and achieve a lot more than anyone thought possible.
It is really exciting to over and over again witness these transformations, but there's more - Margaret is so good at what she does, that these characters all think that they've done it themselves!
In the past different clients have hinted at this belief but lately one or two have actually been coming out and saying it!
I have tried to convince Margaret how much she should be flattered with how radically these people have changed under her coaching. They should be falling over themselves to recommend her services to their friends and colleagues and many do but I get the distinct feeling that just as many like to keep her to themselves.
So come on you people you know who you are - you should be referring Margaret to your HR decision-maker for outplacement work, make an effort. You should be telling at least ten people that they should be getting themselves over here or die in the attempt. You should be sending her a 'tip' from the large bonuses you all make. PS And you should be saying 'Of course, I couldn't have done it without you, Margaret. Thank you.

3. Career Development: Career Quiz
Isn't it intriguing that we expect honesty, trust and passion from our friends, family and loved-ones? We demand comfort, style and warmth in our homes, our airlines and our wardrobe.
We search for truth, knowledge and enlightenment from our schools, our religious institutions and our civic organisations.
We require excitement, realism and escape from our books, television programmes and movies.
AND YET, in spite of the fact that we spend more time at work than on any of the endeavours above, so many of us have settled for a career that does not fulfill us, does not excite or move us and does not make us happy.

Please answer these questions for yourself: |
|
Do you love what you do? |
|
|
Do you look forward to your day with keen anticipation? |
|
|
Do you make a positive and significant difference in the lives of those you encounter? |
|
|
Are you paid what you are worth? |
|
If you answered "no" to any of the questions, don't let this opportunity slip away. Please.

2. Just for a Laugh!: Left Brain - Right Brain
While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.
Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it.
